Question about male seeds & soil

Hello, cannabis is legal in Ohio now so you bet yo sweet ass I’m boutta grow, but my question is, I know you can’t tell what seed you’re planting if it’s a random seed, but do you still get even an okay amount of yield from a male plant? Is the difference in yield from a male and female extremely different or just somewhat different? My second questions is, I have mushroom compost which seems to grow stuff well, would that be a good soil for my cannabis? Thank you !
