So I landed a subcompact fn pistol a month or two ago that I took as part of a trade but didn’t really feel any type of way about it. Well someone recently was looking to trade their sfx for a more concealable weapon and lo and behold I’ve joined the Canik family.
Had a few fte and ftf the initial run at the range before I had even stripped the gun which I like to do just to see where our starting point is. Since then I’ve cleaned and lined the gun back to about oem condition. I’m thinking that whoever traded me thought the gun was a lemon cuz they never cleaned it. Well they’re wrong and I love it. One of the best factory triggers I’ve ever felt and I’ve shot a lot of different brands. Only one that compares is the hk vp9 that I shot and that was a couple years ago.
At first I wanted it to be just a fun range pistol but after the range I’m thinking of using it as my first competitive shooting platform. What tips can you all give a novice shooter to get his beak wet with comp shooting. I shoot almost every week but not with any real purpose other than just trying to speed up my aim and have tight groupings. I was zeroing a different gun when I decided I wanted to see what I could do with the sfx from about 20-25 feet. I’d say that’s a pretty decent group from that range with 20 rds.
