onion fragrance oil? and other odd-smelling fragrances

An enjoyable side project I'm working on is *unexpected* smelling candles. These aren't for selling, of course -- just personal enjoyment.
I've been digging left and right for a onion fragrance oil, but have only found essential oils (edit: which I don't wish to use).
What odd-smelling fragrances have you sourced?
