Loneliness of it all

So I tend to be an open book. Not one who has ever seen the point in hiding something that eventually gets discovered anyway. I travel for work which is lonely enough. I'm older so don't get much dating opportunities as it is. Any time I get close, the second cancer comes up I'm ghosted. I guess what I'm wondering is how many of you deal with similar situations and how do you cope?
