As the title suggest tenants do not clean their rooms and shared accommodation (such as the kitchen, washroom, living room, etc).

Their contract states to keep the household respectably clean because they are not the only people living there. There is a family living in the basement who regularly cleans and maintains the household.

The situation got out of hand when the landlord had to hire an exterminator to get rid of cockroaches. For about 3 months there was a major difference but with no maintenance and tenants bringing food into their rooms without proper cleaning; cockroaches is starting to come back.

Tenants upstairs keep complaining without maintaining cleaning standards set by landlord and the exterminator. They don’t even help with taking out the trash to the side of the road to get it picked up by the city. At this state they are just feeding and growing the infestation.

What would you guys do as a fellow tenant and a landlord about this situation? The tenants live month to month (cannot be evicted), keeps sending complains to landlord, as mentioned does not clean, harasses other tenants and has made several complains that led to the government telling them their situation is not “over crowded”. They are from hell and believe in squatters rights. This has made it impossible for my family to live with them and the landlord to lose their minds.
