I'm trying to get my students interested in government by giving them small primers of major news stories in Canada in the last six months or so - things like Rob Ford's conflict of interest, or the lawsuit launched by teachers against the Ontario government, or the Minister of Agriculture and the tainted meat.
Only problem is, I'm finding my memory to be pretty spotty. I've come up with any number of issues in the last three months, but before that I'm having trouble - and I'm afraid what I do remember will be a little biased (always an issue in my line of work).
After 15 minutes of searching the web, I can't seem to find any site that shows me front pages for each day, or that sums up big news stories for each month.
Reddit, any help? It would be great for people who sometimes don't follow the news on a day-to-day basis - I'm sure it must be out there somewhere!
