Post Body

I've got a week off in July and I feel like I need a bit of time to myself. I've started driving in the past year, a bit later in life than most so I fancy a camping trip within a couple of hours drive of Manchester to clear my head. We're off to Scotland as a family in the summer and taking some camping gear so it'll give me a chance to try that out (although tips on everything I will definitely need in terms of kit are also welcome).

I basically just want to pitch up, read a book, have a wander, have a coffee in the morning, beer in the evening and eat some snacks. Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a very quiet campsite? The quieter the better, although a pub within walking distance would be nice.

I used to go camping in the Peak District with my mates when we were teenagers but that doesn't feel far afield enough as we go there on day trips sometimes, so Lake District or North Wales I guess.
