I haven't seen this mentioned before, So I shall mention it here. The last Line in Annabeths prophecy is "and lose a love to worse than death". As soon as she heard that, her mind would definitely go to Luke, but after some thought, she would realize it could apply to Percy as well. So that means she went through the whole book terrified for the 2 people she could truly say she loved. But if you delve one layer deeper. As soon as Annabeths realized the prophecy could apply to either Luke OR Percy, she subconsciously developed a preference for who it would be, and that is simply another thing that would haunt her.
