Canon AL-1 Battery Spring Replacement

Does anyone have a video tutorial or step by step on how to replace the battery spring in the above model camera? I did a cursory search on YouTube and did not see anything. I am assuming I have to remove the top cover to get to it, but I am not sure how to do that.
