Cambodian Honeymoon - General and specific advice
Post Body

My wife and I were married at the end of last June. We decided not to take a formal honeymoon then because of how hectic our lives already were- and we knew we wanted to leave the country (we're in the US).

We decided on Cambodia because of a conversation we had when we first met that led to us dating. We've settled on about two weeks time in Cambodia (we plan on allotting additional travel to and from Cambodia). As of now, we plan on going in February, both in anticipation of Valentines day and Meak Bochea.

So far we've set aside two days for Angkor Wat itself; for those that have been- would you consider that enough time (or even too much)?

Beyond Angkor Wat, I'd like to spend a couple of days in Phnom Penh. We're interested in checking out Wat Phnom and the Russian market specifically, but I'd love some other suggestions for interesting or uniquely Cambodian things to do, see, or encounter in Phnom Penh.

My wife is pretty keen on checking out the coast as well, and we'd love some suggestions for where to go/stay on the coast.

We do plan on incorporating places like the Killing Fields, and Tuol Sleng, even the landmine museum if we go to Siem Reap. However, I would like to try to do those things on the last few days of our trip as I know I'm going to find it emotionally devastating.

We like temples, I am a practicing Buddhist and my wife is Christian. If there are any interesting churches in the country, she would love that, but I figured few if any made it through the turbulent years.

In addition, I had some questions of a more medical nature. I suffer from chronic pain and I take daily pain medication for it. During our trip I expect to take stronger medications to account for all the travel - am I going to have any problems having pain medication on me? Will I have any problems bringing them into the country, and/or if I need to obtain them in country will that even be an option? Because of the pain thing, we will be limited in our activities- anything to strenuous simply isn't going to be possible (including hiking). To be honest I expect Angrok Wat to probably be very difficult for me, but my wife really wants to go, so there is simply no way we're going to miss it.

Anyway, thanks for any and all suggestions you may have- I recently subscribed to this thread for some additional exposure/ideas, so maybe I'll see you around.

Cheers!
