I would prefer to fly into the capital since it is cheaper, but I’m willing to do overland (I’ll come from Chiang Mai). How expensive is it there for a shoestring backpacker? I don’t have a set time to stay, maybe a week, maybe two. I like to stay in areas for longer periods of time to absorb my surrounding and experience local culture. Is the capital nice? Any fun cities for a young mid 20’s male? Any racial concerns? (I know this is likely not an issue, but I must ask due to my time in America and I have a huge afro lol) Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated. I am also interested in crashing at a fun beach town. Thanks in advance! :)
