What would you guys do? Buy a 16 or 17 v6 or 10-13 SS

Hey guys I'm currently looking to pick up a camaro in the next few weeks and I'm wondering if I should get a newer v6 or older SS. Personally I'm leaning to the SS cause my favorite body style is the early 5th gens and I get the joy of the V8 but several people have said why spend the same amount for a 8ish year old car. So basically double guessing myself.
