So I'm doing a campaign where PC's inherit an old house and a business in the fictional town of Sargasso Springs, Alabama. It's set in 1919 (after the end of WWI but before Prohibition has been applied as law. Episode 1 is dubbed "The Ithaqua Infestation " and PC'S will discover their relative/friend/co-worker has been selling rare occult books and objets d'art via the mail for several years but is repentful of this and wants the PC's to correct the evil he's caused. The first adventure has them find the reason behind swarms of pure white insects and the town's problem with the cold weather that has moved in and the victims who have frozen to death where they shouldn't have. Episode 2 dubbed "Crown of the Rat King" takes them to Elmhurst, IL in search of a strange statue created by a German sculptor and occultist of vile reputation. So why share this with you? Honestly, I am happy to have help coming up with ideas for future episodes. I want to keep the Mythos small or medium-sized at for a while. Episode 1 revolves around insects and the fragment of a Mythos book, The Book of winter (but in Latin which I can't remember. ). Episode 2 focuses on wererats. I don't want them to face anything major for a year (game time, not real). So what are some smaller cthulhu or non-cthulhu creatures that you can think of. If you were playing what would you like to encounter?
