Hey, Folks.
I’m a long-time GM just getting into CoCth. I was sold on running “The Haunting” by Seth Skorkowsky’s video (a truly handsome man), and I’ve now read the advebture a time or two. I’ve ended up with a question:
Why investigate?
While the clues/hand-outs provided in the adventure expound on a lot of the background of the haunted house, none of them seem to help the PCs be better prepared for going into the house. I can see how the process of background investigation builds the suspense and anticipation, but it also seems to me like players who just “Ghost Hunter” it up are just as likely to die/succeed as those who’ve done their homework.
Am I missing something? Does it play better in action?
