I'm running a homebrew campaign, and after some choices and rolls a character is facing either the likely prospect of death or "elevation" through having their brain put into an alien jar. The jar will allow them to travel through the reaches of space and commune with unimaginable life-forms. One thing it will cost them is their body.
Of course, nothing is without cost. Losing their body will be somewhat of a hindrance, but who needs that when you can project your mind anywhere? Well that and some other things. What are some effects, positive or negative that you'd put in to capture the feel of having your brain scooped out and put in a jar?
