Hey, there fellow Keepers and Players!
I am plotting to start my first full-length Call of Cthulhu game after running a number of different short-form campaigns/one-shots for the last couple of years. I am a fan of the mythos, as well as the system so I feel like a kid in a candy store at the creative freedom unwinding in front of me on where to take the game. My players are also excited at the prospect of a long-term campaign and have already been sending me different ideas of character concepts and things they hope to experience since they know little about what the mythos all has in store. Everyone is excited since this will be our first whole campaign of anything other than DnD 5e and sort of a mini-reunion since I haven't seen most of my players for some time.
I want to provide a cheat sheet/nice folder as a means of preventing the game from being slowed to a halt to hunt for rules within the book and a nice gift to celebrate what we are hoping will be a long and fulfilling game. My players don't know I will be providing these things, but I need some pointers on what to add and what I could go ahead and skip out on. For further clarification, our games have always taken place either in the modern day or during some post-apocalyptic event, my last CoC game was a pretty hardcore zombie apocalypse which went really well. But, we haven't had much of a chance to play in the setting of the 1920s, or Arkam for that matter other than a short one-shot that I did a couple of years ago.
We'll be starting this game off using the Blackwater Creek prewritten adventure which was included with the Keeper's screen then having that be the kick-off for the rest of the campaign. So I know the setting will kick the players off during the summer of 1926. So back to my main point- what would you guys suggest I add to these folders for my players to help immerse them in the setting? I already have the combat/damage flowchart and some firefight/sanity cheat sheets as well as a fun little easter egg from our first campaign. I truly appreciate all feedback and help and am looking forward to hearing some of your ideas. Have a great day, everyone!
