As of late I have been wearing thin. I like working for home as I do not have to commute and I can BS on other things while working. However even with all that I have come to the point of wondering how much do I actually like finance. The company I am with wants to license me for something I like, but has been cancelled multiple times due to covid and was one of the spots about the job that made it worth while (along with the pay). However, with increasing call volumes, a back office that is falling apart, and general stresses of feeling like I can't keep up, I am wondering if all this is even worth it. I would like to be in the financial services field, but if it means talking to tons of people every day on the phone, I am wondering if it wouldn't be the worse thing to try and move towards programming. I think I will give this a few more months (as I am taking some certificate and prep classes for computer science). However if they continue to cancel my license test, I am wondering if for all this effort it might be a better idea to pursue CS.
Anyone ever have a breaking point and chart a new path independent of call center work (I have worked for 2 call centers in 2 1/2 years). While the pay is well and might try to eek out till I have enough to put aside and invest, I am at my breaking point. It also does not help they have reduce our acw time. I just wish this did not put a bad taste in my mouth for finance.
