Do you find it hard to care about/respect callers?
Post Body

I want to start with Iā€™d never let a caller hear anything negative I have to say about them, nor do I think berating callers is okay.

I work in a call center that has us send out email correspondences. It has the form needed and instructions on how to send it back. I swear out of the 100 calls a day 40 are asking about the very instructions that were emailed over. Itā€™s hard for me to not think of these people as idiots who just enjoy wasting others time. I think itā€™s strange as a society we canā€™t call out blatant stupidity. My little ā€œsticking it to themā€ is telling them ā€œyou can email , mail or fax using any of the information emailed to you in the body of the email.ā€ I find myself thinking itā€™s really not fair that I have to respect these people, they donā€™t even try. I really have that customer service is just codling stupid people for peanuts. This is actually worse than fast food management by a long shot.

I think call centers should be for violent offenders , itā€™d make both parties think about how they interact with society. Move the rest of us to data entry or chat.
