Simple vanilla and blueberry cake (with blueberries inside) for my SO’s birthday

I wanted the blueberries all mixed throughout the cake, however they must’ve all sank to the bottom of the cake. I flipped the cake upside down and it looks cool having a layer of blueberries at the top.
Does anyone have any tips if I want the blueberries throughout the batter next time? Do I need a thicker batter?
