When does an oreocereus look like an oreocereus?
Post Body

I want to get an oreocereus, but I've never seen one in person. Some of the oreocereus I see for sale online look like someone wrapped fake spiderweb stuff around their cactus and other listings look like the cactus has no "fur" at all with a few listings falling in between. What should I be looking for? I don't want to by the most impressive looking one and get bamboozled, but I don't want a hairless looking one if the other ones are real.
