I'm attempting to propagate new cacti just to increase numbers. I have a lot of opuntia and I've read they make good grafting root stock. I removed the areoles with a knife and cut them as shallow as I can but keeping the areole intact, no white. I couldn't place them off center of the opuntia because of their size, but I sliced the donor flat on top and placed the areoles on the surface and scotch taped them down as tight as I could.
Now I wait. In the mean time, I've been googling and trying to read around more since I still have way more cacti to try this on and figured some of you guys might have some experience and wanted to share your experience with areole grafting what you've done and how well it worked for you.
If this goes well I will post pics with a guide, don't wanna get ahead of myself right now though since IDK if my methods are any good yet.
Happy growing :)
