Good afternoon,
I've been in the M&A world for 15 years, and a full time Business Broker since 2020.
I operate as an individual LLC even though I am part of a group.
Being a business broker is going really well and I'm netting over $200k with half my business being generated through referrals now.
Recently, it was brought to my attention the various ways that Business Broker's can get caught in lawsuits and this has made me anxious.
To an extent, it's the fear of the unknown. I am just not comfortable with legal risk.
I'm seriously considering joining a more established group where they take care of all the legal, insurance etc. but in the interim, how do y'all stay legally safe as business brokers?
