I've wanted to be a BA ever since I worked with one at a call centre. There was a transformation project happening and I was fascinated with the process mapping. Any chance to get off phones.
Eventually I pestered the company to train me in Lean Sixsigma, then immediately wrote a new cv and left. I've been in civil service for 4 years as a project support officer and now a co-ordinator (was off two years in between with disability).
I'm not a natural leader, so co-ordination isn't a perfect fit. I know I'd rather be working on tasks. I've introduced myself to our department's BA team recently and might get a chance to work shadow soon.
I wondered about doing a qualification myself, like the BCS Foundation. Just paying for the exam and studying myself.
How did you get in and what advice would you give?
