I’ve been thinking about opening a business of my own in CA but don’t know much about limitations that my employer probably imposed when I was hired. From what I understand, non-competes aren’t recognized in CA but how about IP & trade secrets? I learned everything I know because of training from the company I plan to leave next year. Does this count as IP that they own? I have access to customers names & contact information so what would happen if they come to me for business? I’m sure whoever has the answers to these knows all the other questions I have too!
