I've been on 300mg XL since early sept.
In the first few weeks, I had insomnia but that's since gone away. After that subsided, I went to a schedule of going to bed around 11:30pm and waking up at 7:45am.
As far as my sleep situation now:
Last week, I started a hybrid job where I have a 2 h train commute tue/wed/thur.
So on those days I get up at 4:45am to take the train to the office for 9am. My return train gets back into town around 8pm.
I generally need 8h of sleep per night, but I'm not sure I can actually get to bed around 9pm on Mon Tue and Wed.
I've been going to bed around 11:30pm - 12am on most evenings. So I'm only getting about 5h of sleep per night three times a week.
So far, I'm a bit tired on the train in on the mornings, but otherwise things seem to be going OK.
I FEEL fine on a daily basis (at least for now) but I'm concerned about potential long-term negative impact of missing so much sleep. I know that there's a lot of evidence that even missing an hour of sleep per night is really fucking bad for you over the longer term.
I really need this job but at the same time I'm not sure I could consistently get to sleep around 9pm even if I wanted to (and I'm not sure that I would even want to go to bed that early).
Has anyone experienced anything similar on bupropion? Going from needing and getting 7-8h of sleep nearly every weeknight to only getting ~5h several times per week?
Was this OK over the long term or did it mess you up? Are there warning signs I should be looking out for to indicate that a change is needed?
