Gaming PC, $1k - $1.5k
Post Body

Looking to build a new pc for gaming. I have a budget of $1000 - $1500. I am located in the Boston area. Here are the requirements:

1080p 144hz

Able to play modern and future games (Doom eternal, rage 2, cyberpunk, etc) at high or ultra settings at 144fps

Built for practicallity, no need to waste money on led lights and such

Want it to last a long time and be upgradable

I want an Nvidia card with Gsync

Atleast 1Tb of space

Looking to buy on black friday(? see below)

Need a 24 inch 144hz monitor and keyboard (these I can buy later, I'm more interested in the tower itself currently)

I do have some questions though:

I've never had a monitor capable of displaying framerates over 60, and with a 60 hz monitor I do not like unstable framerates. Yet when watching videos of people with higher hz I see their framerates jumping all pver the place in the hundreds. Is this not noticable over 60 or do I need to lock my framerates to have smooth input?

I hear SSD is worth the investment, is it easy enough to get going if I get it down the line?

Is it actually cheaper to build my own computer now? I know GPU prices were expensive due to miners, has that period ended?

Is overclocking a must? what is necessary to overclock safely?

Lastly, is black friday/cyber monday the best time to buy parts? Or does it not matter? If not I will probably buy asap

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer help!
