Dell U2720Q vs UP2720Q for 3D work? also CalMAN related
Post Body

Hey all!
To make it short:

I have found a used (but like new condition) U2720Q for 200 Euros as well as an opened but never used UP2720Q for 400 Euros in my area. I'm looking for a monitor with excellent color accuracy, mainly for 3D work but also other similar creative digital endeavours. Doing not that much printing, but maybe that will change.

The specs of the UP2720Q are better in that sense - but I've read that the built-in colorimeter is a bit weak AND that you are more or less forced to buy this CalMAN for Dell software to do calibration with external own devices. Is that still true??? I've got a Spyder X Pro - and from what I could find out - I can't even use it with this CalMAN software. I got a bit thrown off after finding out and thought maybe the U2720Q is fine enough.

Would you guys still recommend going for the UP2720Q? Or just fo for the U2720Q?

Thanks in advance,

AP
