Do I need multiple monitors or a single widescreen/hi-res monitor for coding?
Post Body

I wouldn’t say I have an ideal home office setup. But since promotion I’ve been building and maintaining large cloud infra on these tiny screens.

I read and write a LOT of code, reference stack overflows, watch YT, take conference calls and not really interested in gaming.

I’m on call late at night most of the time and my eyes have been straining lately because of how small texts are and scaling up is just useless on these. Been looking at couple 4K options but I can’t figure out if I need a 4K for coding.

LG’s Ergo Dual seems like a great deal but both monitors are 2K and I’m not sure that’s gonna help with my eye strain. I’m spoiled with MacBook’s Retina.

On the other hand Dell’s Ultrasharp U2723QE hub monitor sounds like a great add, eventually might get a second one too. But I like LG’s minimalistic monitor arm approach and cable management which doesn’t come with Dell and I probably have to pair it up with Ergotron lx VESA arms separately.

My real question is do I need multiple monitor setup for multitasking and productivity or does single monitor like a widescreen should suffice them all?
