First Time Builder - Gaming/Productivity PC
Post Body

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

My main use will be for gaming and school. I have been using a laptop for a long time so never played very demanding games. I hopefully plan on playing FPS games (COD, CS:GO, etc.). I like to play modded Minecraft but was very limited (world would basically freeze after a few weeks of playing). I am a finance student so won't need to do any video editing or photoshopping. The heaviest software I'll use for school might be the super loaded excel file.

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?

My budget will be ~$2000 CAD (~$1500 USD)

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

As soon as possible but not in any particular rush. I want to try to get the best deals possible but also don't want to wait more than a couple of months.

What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc)

I would need all the PC hardware: CPU Cooler, Motherboard, RAM, SSD/HDD, GPU, Case, and PSU. I also would like to include a headset. I have a mouse, keyboard and 2 monitors already.

Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?

I will be purchasing parts from Montreal, Quebec, and potentially Florida (Can order to my father's office in Florida and then ship it to Montreal).

If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.

As mentioned, I'm going to be keeping my mouse, keyboard, and 2 monitors. I have the Logitech G502 Mouse, Logitech G410 keyboard and 2 Acer 24 inch LED monitors (all about 3.5 years old).

Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?

I'm not sure about this yet. But will probably consider it down the line.

Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)

I'm thinking about 500GB SSD and 2TB HDD. I would also prefer liquid cooling. Also would like wifi and Bluetooth available. My monitors are 60Hz refresh rate right now. May want to upgrade them to 144Hz. Any suggestions would be nice (include in the budget if possible).

Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-tower/full-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?

I want the case to be either mid- or full-tower. I would like the color theme to be black with hints of red. If possible, some the hardware to light up in red when the PC is powered.

Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?

Nope!
