Hello everyone.
I've finally decided to replace my 7 years old computer. It is still working, but has trouble to keep up when different things are going on at the same time (game internet browser, or game windows 10 shenanigans) or simply when a game is too demanding. I will keep it for basic tasks (data storage, web navigation,...) as the family pc, but would like something more up to date for heavier uses.
What will you be doing with this PC?
- Casual gaming (modded minecraft, modded civilization, older FPS, with small server hosting). I don't go after AAA titles.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
- I gave myself a 1000€ budget (could go higher, but I don't want to spend too much on it - after all I'll be using it at most 10 hours a week)
When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
- As soon as possible. I can wait a bit if prices are expected to go down for certain parts.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc)
- The tower. I'll keep my current monitor/peripherals for now.
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in?
- France
Will you be overclocking?
- No intention to overclock.
Do you have any specific case preferences or a particular color theme preference for the components?
- Something quiet and discreet if possible. I don't find flashy builds very decorative.
- Also I occasionnaly go to small LAN events with friends, a not too bulky tower would be a plus.
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
- Yes I would like to buy a new copy of win10, but not for 100€. Otherwise I will transfer the one from my current pc.
Extra info or particulars:
Here is a build I started, based on previous posts. Everything seems compatible but no idea if it is optimal (especially the CPU/GPU choice)
