$1600 Gaming PC - First ever build
Post Body

I have no experience with building a PC, but will have a friend help me. Woo me with your build recommendations! Last gaming rig I had was a subpar gaming laptop with a NVIDIA GT 750M 2GB graphics card... :'^)

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

Mostly for gaming and entertainment purposes with minor office work (Microsoft Office).

I want to play games such as Skyrim (modded), Final Fantasy XV, CSGO, Overwatch, PUBG, DRAGON BALL FighterZ, League of Legends, DOOM, & Resident Evil 2 remake (when it comes out).

I'd like to run most games at high-ultra settings with good FPS.

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?

My total budget is $1600.

EDIT: Removed portion regarding monitor

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

As soon as possible. Probably next weekend or so when I have time.

What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc)

Tower only.

Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?

Located in New York, United States, without access to a nearby Microcenter location.

If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.

I have a (Silver/White) Corsair K70 RAPIDFIRE RGB MK2 SE keyboard and a (Black) Corsair M65 RGB mouse. I have a pair of (Silver/Gray) BOSE speakers, but will probably get a headset later on.

Just purchased "Dell - 27" LED QHD GSync Monitor - Black" thanks to r/buildapcsales

(2560 x 1440, 1ms, 144hz)

Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?

I'm not too sure to be honest. Not now but maybe down the line when I have a better understanding and whatnot.

Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)

I'd like a 1070 TI, 1080, 1080 TI or whatever is deemed necessary.

- Decently sized SSD (from 256 to 1TB).

- At least 16 gigs or more for RAM.

*My setup will not be near my router so I'll need a wifi card in the motherboard

Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-tower/full-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?

Mid or full tower is preferred, in white with a glass side panel. Perhaps a NZXT S340, NZXT Elite S340, or Corsair Crystal 570X (kind of pricey though)? Open to more suggestions.

I would highly prefer to have LED RGB lighting to match with my mouse & keyboard. Not everything has to be decked out in LED lighting though.

Color theme: Anything that goes well with the white case.

Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?

No need for Windows in the build.
