Trying to decide if I should upgrade completely from my first build from 2017 or just replace a few things
Post Body

  • New build or upgrade? Not sure yet, open to both
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? Listed below, would definitely upgrade in pieces if that ends up being a better idea

CPU: Intel i5-7600k Quad Core

Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S

Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon ATX LGA1151

Memory: I think Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2x8)

Storage: SK Hynix SL308 250GB SSD 2.5" & Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM HDD

GPU: MSI Gaming X GTX 1080 8GB

Case: NZXT Phantom 630

PSU: SeaSonic Focus Plus 750 Gold

Monitor: LG UltraGear 27" Nano IPS QHD (will most likely buy a 2nd one)

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) Primarily gaming, more MMORPG type stuff & photo editing
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? USA, nearest Microcenter about 2 hours away
  • Monitors needed? No
  • Budget range? 1,800-ish
  • WiFi or wired connection? Wi-fi
  • Size/noise constraints? Not really
  • Color/lighting preferences? I hate the RGB thing, prefer minimalist looks
  • Any other specific needs? Definitely need a larger SSD

  • Build/check copy these into post. Write "Not a request" for other posts. - New build or upgrade? - Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) - PC purpose?
