This post might be obvious for some, but I think it should be reiterated to folks like me. I bought my PC parts in July and bought an Aorus B4450 board with builtt in wi-fi and Bluetooth, thinking I was saving time and money getting a board with built in connectivity.
Looking back now, there is obviously the fact that I could've saved money by gettign a board with similar functionality without the upcharge of built in connectivity, but the difference between my built in connectivity is and wifi card is night and day.
Using built in connectivity, my PC was getting max 120 Mbps(my PC is a floor above my router and I was paying for 800Mbps) and as slow as 1 Mbps. I also **COULD NOT** use Bluetooth reliably. My controller would connect but it would constantly lose connection despite me being right next my pc.
With my $23USD wifi card, I am getting max 500 Mbps and as low as 300 Mbps, with Bluetooth connection being absolutely perfect.
You can obviously use ethernet to solve these issues, but my townhome apartment does not make it possible to do so. Newer boards with built in connectivity are fine but they are also pricy. If you are building a budget PC then i hope you follow this advice and don't be as stubborn as I was
I bought a MSI B550 PRO, would this still support the wifi card option?
