I built my machine about six years ago and, at the time, I opted to go for a low end GPU ( GTX 1050 ti ) at the time due to budget, thinking I could upgrade it later. Well, that didn't quite happen as I hoped. When GPU prices skyrocketed, I decided to wait. Now, things have come down to a decent level where I'm thinking of doing a little bit of a GPU bump.
For reference, I'm currently running an i5-8500 on a B360M motherboard powered by a 450 watt power supply. Other than the GPU, I have an SSD (OS) and HDD (LT storage) installed as well. Best case, I only really want to upgrade the GPU.
I'm fairly sure an RTX 1660 ti would work. As I understand it, it's low powered enough to fit within my power supply limits, but I'm curious if a rx6600 ti or rx6700... or maybe even a rtx 2060 would work with that power supply limit? I ask as I really have trouble pinning down where to look for power consumption on these cards (I know I have to check the power connection coming from the power supply as well)
Any suggestion or thoughts?
