I'm building my first gaming PC (using a laptop atm), and have basically completed the build but am just looking for a GPU.

In Australia right now it seems there seems to be a few specials on and I can get a 6900 xt OC or 3070 ti OC for $999. Also the 6800xt is also $999 here, but i figure there is no point getting that is the 6900xt is the same price.

I've never gamed with a high end GPU, and was just reading about Ray Tracing and DLSS and FSR and am now i am more confused.

Any advice on which option is best? Would you advise waiting a few months more for futher discounts? the prices seem to be dropping fast this last few months!

I want to game on a 1440p 34 ultrawide curved monitor btw, not sure i care too much about high framerates though, but then again I have never had high frames rates so not sure i will be able to tell the difference.

#Edit: to confuse things, I just found a 3080 for $1100 (i swear they were >1300 last i looked), would it be worth $100 more to get a 3080 over these others?
