Inherited an essentially brand new PC that supposedly has a faulty motherboard. Need help identifying parts!

Post Body

Hi! As the title says, I’ve just come into possession of a PC. The friend of mine who gave it to me said that when the motherboard arrived in the mail, it was only in one layer of packaging and that packaging was either soaking wet or seemingly had been soaked at some point. He hooked up the motherboard and the computer turned on for about 10 seconds and then turned off. After that, he decided he didn’t want to deal with it and that’s how it came to be mine. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, right?

Anyway, I’m brand new to PC building. I’ve read through a lot the wiki and know what all of the parts do, but I could use some help identifying the parts that I already have!

I determined that the motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-A320M-S2H and I know that the dealio attached to the front of the mobo is the CPU, but beyond that and the obviously labeled power supply, I’m a bit lost.

I wouldn’t mind purchasing the same mobo again but I’m also okay with getting a better one if that seems to be a consensus. I’m not actually sure that there’s even a problem with the mobo at all necessarily, so if anything in the pictures stands out as an obvious problem, please let me know!

Any and all help/suggestion is very much appreciated :)pics of the current build
