Why is membrane such a hated type of keyboard?

Post Body

Exactly what the title says. Iā€™m always on the look out for a new keyboard, and a lot of the review sites, pc forums, Reddit, etc, always state to get a mechanical keyboard, this keyboard is this much with these type of switches, or this keyboard is this with these special type of key caps. But like what if someone (like myself) donā€™t like mechanical keyboards? I feel like Iā€™m in the minority but like I realistically prefer to use membrane over mechanical. I like the feeling better, I type a lot better (unorthodox typing style) . And overall theyā€™re cheaper.

Iā€™ve heard the arguements too. ā€œOh you havenā€™t found the right type of switches you likeā€ or ā€œthe keycaps you have might not suit youā€ and donā€™t get me wrong theyll all solid arguments. But what is so wrong with just liking membrane? Itā€™s such an outlandish concept to some. And usually I get bashed on by people just cause ā€œIā€™m nuts if I like membraneā€.

I currently am rocking a razer cynosa keyboard that I paid like 50 bucks for and I absolutely love it.

So explain to me the stigma. If I were to get a mechanical keyboard what would be one you think o actually possibly would like? Are there any one else that prefers membrane to mechanical? Letā€™s have a discussion.
