Truthfully, not super sure how PCIE lanes work and if there is a limit I need to stay aware of. I currently run a system with a MSI X570 Carbon pro with a Ryzen 3900x. It has connection for 2 graphics cards and 2 m.2 slots. Right now I have a 2070 super and a m.2 gen3 running on it.
I hope to upgrade to the 4070 when it comes out and a m.2 gen 4. Will I be able to keep all of my current components and run it all on the same system? I want to run my current card as a second graphics card because I run with 3 screens and the secondary screens can struggle sometimes if I'm running a game at the max settings my card can manage. This way I can game using the new stuff and run some of my other stuff on the old card.
Is this viable? Or will my system struggle because I'm overusing PCIE lanes?
Thank you!
