Hello, my personally built PC from November 2020 has recently been crashing and then restarting.
Specs: -Gigabyte RX 5700xt -Fractal Design Ion 560p Platinum -Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite -Ryzen 5 3600x -Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8gb @3200mhz -Western Digital 500gb WD Blue M.2 ssd. -Updates: 1tb Crucial 3D NAND M.2 ssd.
Issue about two weeks ago the pc started crashing randomly. Game would freeze and screen would to the windows pc error screen with a :( frowny face. The bottom half would be all torn with black and other colors thrown in there. It would then reboot right back to windows and allow me to login and resume gaming. Around this time I noticed the two lights flashing on my gpu above the power connectors flashing while the pc was on. This was odd, I didn’t remember seeing them flash other than when I booted and turned off the pc. It would usually crash about once per session. I have tried to recreate the crash with stress testing and certain programs but it is not reproducible as of yet.
On this Friday it crashed and would no longer boot to windows, asking to select proper boot device. After some testing I put the original 500gb m.2 in the second slot which was being used by an additional 1tb that had been recently installed. Upon startup it booted to windows! so I assume the original m.2 slot was dying and finally died that day. Over the weekend I experienced no crashed until tonight where it crashed back to back again. I have no place to start and my prior pc troubleshooting knowledge falls short here. Any help would be appreciated.
If there is any info you need to help diagnose the problem please let me know!
