Hello, apologies if this is the wrong place, but I recently built a PC over the holidays and while its been running great, I fear I'm not getting the most out of it.
My PC has an TUF OC RTX 3080 and a Ryzen 9 3900X, and running things at 2560x1440 144Hz usually goes well, usually getting a stable 100-120 frames depending on the game. However, I've noticed frame dips where I would expect it to hold, which made me raise an eyebrow, but I never gave it much thought.
Then the benchmark for the new FFXIV expansion came out, and it gave me cause for concern. My overall performance on the benchmark was 16099, which is very good, but my friend with a 3070 and an i7 10700K scored a 17291 with the same settings (2560x1440, maximum settings) So I'm wondering if I have something set up wrong, and I'm not getting the most out of my build? Any help is appreciated!
EDIT: Thank you all for the replies! turns out my RAM speed was locked at the mobo's default 2133MHz and not the RAM's advertised 3600MHz. After rerunning the benchmark I got a cool 18800, and some confidence that Im actually getting the most out of my build! Thank you all for your help!
