Post Body

Hey guys, looking for some advice for a new build. My current setup is a tad behind and in dire need of an upgrade:

CPU - Ryzen 5 2600
Mobo - Asus Prime B450M Micro ATX
GPU - Asus RX570 4GB Strix
SSD - Samsung 860 Evo 500GB
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Ram - Team T-Force Vulcan Z 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz
PSU - Corsair 650W Gold
Case - Aerocool DS Silence Cube Micro ATX

Im hoping to use some parts from my current build (SSD, HDD, PSU, Ram) in the new build, where possible. I have a budget of around $2,000AUD but could go slightly higher. As i know GPU prices are a little out of whack at the moment. I honestly just don't know where to start and what CPU, GPU, Mobo will give me the best bang for buck? I haven't done a build in a few years so I'm really out of the loop.

PC will be used mostly for gaming and WFH. Hoping to be able to run current gen games at 1440p.

Looking for any advice as to what parts would be best for my budget and what current CPU/GPU's are best value for money.

Cheers guys!

I'm not sure I understand what you mean? Im open to any sort of build at the moment that fits into my budget of "around $2,000AUD". So I'm willing to work with both AMD and Intel. But not really familiar with what's good value for money at the moment.

Well I'm hoping to stay under 2k if I can, but with the way GPU an CPU prices are at the moment it's probably not possible. So willing to go slightly over but don't want to overdo it. And currently don't need any peripherals, thankfully.

Yeh that's a great idea. I luckily have an all in one liquid CPU cooler already - corsair H100. So I'll be using that for the CPU heating.

You're a gem Rebius, cheers for the tip.

Hey mate, thanks so much for the detailed advice. I'm not too fussed on AMD or Intel, I'd happily go with either as long as the performance and price is good. I used to be an AMD fan boy but I've since become a bit more open minded lol.

Thats not a bad idea. I had wanted to go for a bigger build (ATX) just for a bit more room, since my current build is a mini-ITX. But thats a really good budget and fits everything i need to be honest.
Thanks mate!
