Post Body

Hello guys! I have been looking for advice regarding this for a while now but the more I look into it the more I get confused as to what is the best decision.

Background: I am looking to build a PC which I will use for gaming/occasional browsing and everyday work.

Games I will play: Warzone and other BRs, RPG (GTA, Cyberpunk), Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Other work: MATLAB, MS-Office. (If this is too much, I can eliminate those and just leave it at gaming PC since I have a pretty powerful laptop which can handle MATLAB, ANSYS, CATIA, etc.)

Things I know for sure:I will be getting a RTX 3080, 1440p 144hz monitor, 16 GB RAM, Minimum 500 GB SSD.

Things I can't decide upon:This is where I get confused, I have no clue which CPU would be best for me.

> AMD Ryzen 5 5600x or Intel i5 10400f.

> No idea which motherboard would be the best (I don't mind paying up to 300$ I just don't want to overspend in this area)

Extra notes:

I was looking at RTX 3070s but noticed that the temperatures for my monitor and game settings seem to get too hot (80 Celsius both CPU and GPU) I am not sure if this is normal but seems to close to water BP from my perspective.

Not sure if you noticed: I am a NOOB when it comes to building a PC, this will be my first one ever.

EDIT: My budget is around USD $1800. This is just for the Tower.

EDIT 2: Build that I came up with based on various people's advice: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/WV9j9N
