Dual monitor question

Post Body

Hi everyone,

Forgive me, I am incredibly new at this. I built my first PC for both myself and my daughter (who is 6 and recently getting into gaming). The computer is very simple, but I would like to try an add a second monitor if I can.

My graphics card is nothing fancy (MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4Gb). It has 3 outputs, but they are all different formats (1 HDMI, 1 DP, and 1 DVI). My birthday is tomorrow, and my family said they would help me put together a second monitor for me as a gift, but don't know to do that, and very clearly neither do I.

I currently use a Lenovo L22e-20 21.5-inch LED Backlit LCD Monitor via an HDMI connection. I've read about daisy chaining monitors together, and I've also read that if I were to convert either the DVI or Display Port...ports to HDMI via a dongle, that I would be able to independently plug both monitors into my graphics card and have my computer recognize both.

I don't need anything super fancy, I'm just going for function at this point. I do some video editing as a music teacher for my students, and my daughter and I occasionally make youtube videos that I edit for her. If anyone can provide some advice that is cost effective, I would really appreciate it.

Also just thank you to this sub for being so informative and kind. I've been lurking on here for a while, you guys were so helpful, and my daughter's reaction to our computer will be with me forever.
