shellshocker today is an XPG SX8100 Series: 4TB PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 drive for $399.
is this too good to pass up or will it end up killing everyone in my apt building in a fire one night?
this is for my audio production laptop (eluk max-15) which is thin but has thermal pads on the drives. gaming is secondary, but as i understand it audio work is more like gaming than running an os...?
other option is get a better 2tb drive and wait for prices to come down. boot drive is 1tb evo plus, so looking for a media library drive for both live recording takes (up to 16 tracks at 96k and 32 bit) and samples for virtual instruments as well as DAW sessions.
pcie 3x4.
