Question about wireless cards and Bluetooth in particular

Pretty basic question but I realized I really don't know anything about network card quality. I've got my computer hard wired with a gigabit connection, but the mobo has no built in wireless capability. I want to be able to use my PS4 controller on the PC wirelessly. Does it matter about the quality of the wireless card or is it as long as it has Bluetooth its fine? Any weird compatibility issues I should know about?
