Hiii people of the awsome buildapc community!
So , how do i even start here meh idk lol i recently had the privilege to find my love for pc building again by building myself and a friend of mine Pcs. It had been soooo long more than 2 years since my last build (i put in a random 4th gen i5 got the MBO from ebay put in a gt 1030 for the cheap performance and i found some random 12 gbs or ddr3 ram stuck all of that in an old case that i had from when pentium 4s first came out honestly it was a 170-200 $ build for my grandpa so i guess it was ok lol) after that i just lost touch with buildin i just kept on gaming.
When i finally felt how slow my i7 6700 was getting i decided that it had done enough for me in like 5 years so i sold my whole setup (i7 6700, z170p, 16 gbs ddr4 2133 , 1060 6gb with one ssd and a hdd ) and i started looking for new stuff some on the used market tho so i did for like a month or two and i finally built my pc that i have rn (i9 9900k , z390 Gaming Sli, 16 gbs ddr4 3000 , 1080ti ( best 250$ performance i could find ) and i just ordered my NH-D15 ) felt rlly good getting back in the game building having fun choosing components and all of that so u can imagine the joy on my face when my friend which i play with every day asked me if i could build him one after he gets rid of that machine that he had (i5 6400 , idk what MBO he had , 8gbs ddr4 2133 , a 950M ) so he sold it we did some budget management and we came up with a really good price-performance build i think (i5 9600k , z370 PC Pro, 16 gbs ddr4 3200 , 1070ti (got it at 170$) and a pure rock slim ) so now hes happy im even happier cause i found my best hobby again and that brings me to my BIG question which i could ve gotten to a lot easier but idk if y’all care i wanted to share the fun that i had on my little journey xD.
I wanna do a wayback build of sorts, i have this old laptop that i cleaned and set up with a 860 evo for my mum to use , its like 6.5-7.5 years old but i still can enjoy and occasional 55-60 fps cs go game on there it was fairly good for the time its has an i7 3632QM and 8gbs of ddr3? Im guessing at 1600mhz so i was wondering cause now i felt so much joy with the bulding i did can i big question coming up can i take that old i7 3632QM and thoose 8gbs of ram , order a Portwell WADE- 8321 stick a 950 or 780ti in there and have a nice old fashioned mini pc capable of much fun but still being legendary in a way cause of age ??? Will a gpu like that work on that ( i don’t even think its a motherboard rather a daughterboard lol) should i make a custom cpu cooler or is this funny thing coming stock with the portwell enough im having some issues finding that info on the net?
Thanks in advance from me !
