Soon to be done with uni, I'll have time and money for games. What can I expect to afford?

Post Body

I have, in fact, read the rules. I am not asking for a complete build, I just want to get an idea of what it is possible to buy with what amount of money.

As per the title, I'll use the machine for gaming (and work, but anything that can run games will be overkill for work - although possibly extra RAM could be useful, since I sometimes find myself processing large amounts of data. You have no idea the pain I went through to process 40GB of CSV data with my laptop).

My budget is about 1000€ (I am in Italy).

I definitely want at least 1080p resolution and 60FPS (for the first time in my life). I wonder if I could dream bigger and get a 1440p monitor, and/or 120FPS? Higher resolution is more important than higher framerate. Also, since I expct I'll be doing a lot of reading and document shuffling on the same monitor, the actual physical screen size matters.

Again, I don't need a complete build - I think I'll be able to get that together myself, as I have done so in the past. However, the market has changed significantly and I have no idea what I can actually afford.

As an extra: where should I look for keyboards and mice? I'll be typing a lot, is a mechanical keyboard worth it?
