I've recently built my first PC (thanks for the help! thread coming once I iron out all the kinks) and for the most part it has been great! But, I've also faced some issues.
In troubleshooting some random/occasional blue screens and game crashes, I'm trying to pin point the root cause. Most of the occasional blue screens seem to be related to RAM (I originally clocked the sticks up to 3600), so I was trying to boot into my BIOS (MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC) to change the profile back down but I'm not able to.
When booting and rebooting, my main monitor is entirely black, until I get to the Windows login screen. The MSI logo never shows up to prompt the BIOS button trigger and even if I do spam it anyway, it does nothing and then just sits on a black screen. Nor does it boot into BIOS when I do the Advanced Options/Troubleshooting reboot from Windows.
All that said, I was able to boot into BIOS when I first built about a month ago, but haven't tried/needed to until trying to debug this issue. I ran a memtest on the RAM (no detected issues). I've tried disabling Windows Fast Boot. I've tried cleaning the CMOS by removing the battery. I've tried flashing the BIOS. I've tried the various display ports. All ended with the same black screen I was experiencing beforehand.
With the exception of the GPU (free from friend) and the monitors (had them for my work from home setup), I purchased everything new within the last couple months as sales popped up. Hopefully it's not a faulty part anywhere.
