My rgb fan controller almost caught fire

So I recently bought the Sahara duo ring pwm fans and a controller said to be compatible with them . It has an argb header cable , pwm and remote . Plugs into molex. After setting up my fans with the controller . I saw the wire glow super red and melted the plastic. What am I doing wrong ? It has no manual to say which fan should go in first as I think this is what made it burn and fry the controller .
