Thought the desktop PC was dead. But after fooling with it this weekend, its up but it's pretty outdated. I'll list what I have now and what I was planning on purchasing for a new build below. My hopes is some of you can give me some advice on what to update first and advice on what to update to.
CPU: i5 3570K
Cooler: Corsair H100 (its a old one that I don't see for sell anywhere)
MOBO: ASUS P8Z77-V PRO (currently upstairs needs wired connections and wifi signal to the board is weak. so having to use cell phone as wifi hotspot... lol)
GPU: Sapphire HD 7970
RAM: 4 x 4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1333
PSU: EVGA 650 80 Gold Modular
Case: Corsair Carbide 400r
SDD: Crucial M4 128GB
HDD: WD Green 2TB 3.5"
Here's what I was thinking for a build. My price point is flexible but I would like to stay under 1500, preferably 1000. I would like to get the system up to par to run VR and iRacing games. So been focusing on 1440p benchmarks.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
Cooler: More likely a AIO until down the road until I start compiling watercooling parts.
MOBO: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WIFI
GPU: Gigabyte 5700 XT Gaming OC
RAM: 2 x 8 DDR4 3200 (whatever reliable brand)
PSU: ::: keep current psu... should be good enough :::
Case: ::: depending on final price, keep current case :::
SDD: ::: keep current sdd until m.2 down the road :::
HDD: ::: keep current hdd :::
Possibly stupid idea of pairing a 2700x with the 570 chipset mobo and 5700 xt GPU???
